The invention relates to a method for thermally obliterating biological tissue by light radiation known from the art. The inventive device comprises two separable parts, namely a handpiece (102) and a rigid puncture shaft (103) with an optical window (1) and an interior diffuser element (8). The handpiece (102) and the puncture shaft (103) are lockably but detachably linked with each other in a non-positive and/or positive manner by means of connector (4) so that the puncture shaft (103) can be exchanged any time.
