The emitter has an X-ray tube (1) accommodated in a housing (3) filled with coolant (2). The X-ray tube is fixed to the housing and rotates with it. The housing is made of a material which strongly attenuates X-ray radiation. The housing is at least partially formed from electrically insulating material. The housing is mounted on hollow axles which are in fluid connection with the housing.
