The present invention provides a plastic suture package capable of retaining a sheet of desiccant material. The package is rotary wound from the bottom and dispensed either by pulling the suture material through a central dispensing port or by pushing out the desiccant sheet using the needle holder so the suture material falls away from the package and uncoils. The latter dispensing method is known as "self-dispensing" since it will occur as a natural result of the needle holder pressing against a flap located in the vicinity of the needle park. <IMAGE> |
