A shell-type needle roller bearing (1) for a universal joint has numerous needle rollers in an outer ring with a cylindrical section which is pressed into the bearing ring. The ring forms part of a forked section within a hoop with a base at one end. The cylindrical section is formed by three curved wall sections of the same length. When the universal joint pin is pushed into the bearing, the curved wall sections are pushed outwards elastically, by the needle rollers. The needle rollers are pushed back by the back-spring action onto the pin surface.
