<p>A method and system for receiving and processing a broadcast data stream in a digital tuner device in accordance with user defined criteria. A broadcast data stream is received using a digital tuner device from a broadcast signal source. A profile data stream is received using a profile interpreter device from a profiler. The profile data stream includes various descriptive attributes of the broadcast data stream. A user criteria list is generated which describes desirable attributes of the broadcast data stream as determined by the user. The digital tuner device is controlled by the profile interpreter device, such that the digital tuner device is automatically controlled in accordance with the attributes of the broadcast data stream and the user criteria list.</p> |
