<p>An installation for generating compressed air comprises a combustion chamber (1), two or more turbine-driven compressor units (2, 3) connected in parallel, means for feeding part of the air compressed by the compressor units to the combustion chamber to burn fuel supplied to the combustion chamber, and means for discharging part of the air compressed by the compressor units as compressed air product. There are means for driving the turbines by the exhaust gases from the combustion chamber. There is a junction (6) where the compressed air discharge lines (7, 8) from the various turbine-driven compressors meet and from where, on the one hand, a compressed air line (5) to the combustion chamber (1) and, on the other hand, a product discharge line (9) with control valve (10) branch off. Preferably, a pressure sensor (14) is arranged in the product discharge line - downstream of the said control valve (10) - which pressure sensor (14) is connected via a pressure signal line (15) to the control unit (11), such as a PLC, which, in turn, is connected via a signal line (13) to a pump (12) for controlling the fuel feed to the combustion chamber (1) on the basis of the desired consumer pressure.</p> |
