alpha -(1,2,4-Triazol-1-yl)- alpha -acylacetanilides (I) are new. alpha -(1,2,4-Triazol-1-yl)- alpha -acylacetanilides of formula (I) are new. R1 = alkyl or hetaryl; R2 = halogen, alkoxy or aryloxy; R3 = alkoxycarbonyl (-COOR), carbamoyl (-CONHRR') or urethane (-NHCOOR); R4 = a substituent; R5 = alkyl or aryl; R6 = hydroxy-(ethoxy)n; and n = 1-2 An Independent claim is also included for color photographic silver halide material with blue-, green- and red-sensitive emulsion layer(s) containing yellow, magenta and cyan couplers respectively, in which at least one compound (I) is used as yellow coupler.
