Elongated member (11) may comprise a single part or two parts in male-female interconnecting arrangement. Various embodiments are disclosed wherein novelty item (17) may comprise a balloon, a ribbon rosette or a badge, and the gift article may comprise a box or a bott le of wine, liqueur or perfume. Engagement means (19) may adhesively attach to a surface of the box, or it may engage around the neck of the bottle.
