NON-CORRECTING LENS BLANK, AND METHOD FOR MAKING SAME

The invention concerns a non-correcting lens blank (1) incorporating an optical function such as, for example, polarisation, comprising a composite blade (2), defined by a peripheral edge (2a) and between an outer convex surface (2b) and an opposite inner concave surface (2c). Said composite blade consists of at least a transparent material, transmitting light from the outer surface to the inner surface, and incorporates a film integrating an optical function. The composite blade comprises a matrix (4) of the transparent material wherein is reserved a housing (5) whereof the flat surface occupies the major part of the composite blade (2) surface. A part (6) of the film, adapted to said housing (5), occupies the latter.
