A medical device for insertion into a mammalian body, wherein the medical device has a crystalline therapeutic agent thereon. Also provided is a metho d of delivering a therapeutic agent to a target location within a mammalian body. The method comprises the steps of placing crystals of the therapeutic agent on a medical device, and delivering the medical device to the target location.
