An opening and closing device for architectural rolling door is provided in which various parts of the device are assembled into a cylindrical-shaped casing with good work efficiency and without looseness. After a casing (6)is divided into upper and lower semi-cylindrical parts (9, 10) and various parts, such as an electric motor (12), of the device are assembled into the lower semi-cylindrical part (10), the upper semi-cylindrical part(9) is slidingly fitted into and assembled to the lower part (10) and flange portions (9c, 10d) on the upper and the lower parts (9, 10) in this state are clamped to each other and fixed in a state in which the casing (6) is made small in diameter. <IMAGE>
