PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the gas barrier properties to oxygen gas, steam or the like, the transparency, pliability and the like by forming a coating film of a resin composition containing a vehicle whose principal component is a modified polyvinyl alcohol resin containing a silicon atom on a film of an inorganic oxide formed on one of the faces of a base material film. SOLUTION: A coating film 4 of a resin composition containing a vehicle whose principal component is a modified polyvinyl alcohol containing a silicon atom in the structure, is formed on a film 3 of an inorganic oxide formed on one of the face of a base material film 2. For the base material film 2, a film or a sheet of a polyolefin resin such as polyethylene, or the like is used and for the film 3 of the inorganic oxide, an amorphous film of a metallic oxide such as silicon or aluminum is used. In addition, for the coating film 4, the modified polyvinyl alcohol resin is used which has a silicon atom, contained in the molecule of the modified polyvinyl alcohol resin, which has a reactive substituting group such as an alkoxy group. Thus it is possible to make the film outstanding in terms of gas barrier properties to oxygen gas, steam or the like, transparency and pliability.
