PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens polisher and a lens polishing method wherein position control of a grinding wheel is very easy. SOLUTION: This polisher is provided with a pulse motor 32 generating drive force of a slider 11 to which a grinding wheel 7 is connected and a ball screw mechanism 31 linearly reciprocating the slider 11 by drive force of this pulse motor 32. Here, this ball screw mechanism 31 provides a proportional relation between a rotational amount of the pulse motor 32 and a moving amount of the slider 11.
