PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new cosmetic composition with no sticky feeling in its using on the hair or after dried, making the hair smooth, and excellent in hair conditioning effect such as combability after dried, and useful as a shampoo or the like by including specific amino acid ester(s) and a surfactant. SOLUTION: This new cosmetic composition is obtained by including, as active ingredients, (A) pref. 0.1-20 wt.% of an N-long-chain 6-22C acyl neutralized amino acid ester with the alcohol moiety consisting of a 1-10C hydrocarbon group, (e.g. N-lauroylsarcosine isopropyl ester) and/or (B) pref. 0.1-20 wt.% of an N-long-chain 6-22C acyl acidic amino acid diester with the alcohol moiety consisting of a 1-10C hydrocarbon group, (e.g. N-cocoylglutamic acid isopropyl diester) and (C) pref. 0.01-50 wt.% (for an amphoteric surfactant or the like) of a surfactant such as sodium N-lauroylglutamate.
