PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the display time of a previously specified initial picture to be displayed when power supply for a television(TV) receiver is turned on. SOLUTION: The TV receiver is constituted of a power supply switch 101, a power supply circuit 102, a flyback transformer 103, a heater voltage control resistor 104, a cathode-ray tube(CRT) 105, a heater voltage detection circuit 106, and a control means 107. The circuit 106 detects impression voltage indicating that a heater in the CRT 105 is heated to a temperature capable of starting picture display after turning on the power supply and supplies a picture display start signal to the means 107.
