COOLING APPARATUS FOR CRYOGENIC CONTAINER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cool a cryogenic container with a reduced consumption amount of helium without causing a failure or the like of an expansion machine due to heat load fluctuation. SOLUTION: An apparatus for cooling a cryogenic container 10 containing a superconducting magnet 12 and helium for cooling the magnet is disclosed. A liquid helium container 14 for supplying liquid helium into the container 10 is connected and a helium returning means comprising a helium cooler 20 not having an expansion machine and the like is connected so as to extract low temperature helium gas evaporated in the cryogenic container 10, which is then liquefied and returned to the container 10.
