PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a higher harmonics monitoring device which excludes in rush currents which flows into phase advance capacitors and generated by the opening/closing of switches from the objects to be monitored of a higher harmonic environment. SOLUTION: A higher harmonics monitoring device monitors the higher harmonic environment of a power circuit 1 by detecting higher harmonic currents which flow into phase advance capacitors 7a and 7b, connected to the power circuit 1 through switches 5a and 5b by means of detectors 12r and 12t. The device is provided with inhibiting means 12rc and 12tc, which inhibit the higher harmonic currents generated by the opening/closing of the switches 5a and 5b, and detected by means of the detectors 12r and 12t from becoming objects to be monitored.
