RADIO COMMUNICATION TERMINAL AND TRANSMISSION ANTENNA CHANGEOVER METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize execution of changeover of a transmission antenna by executing the operation of changeover of the transmission antenna only when the reception quality is improved by switching the transmission antenna. SOLUTION: A discrimination circuit 213 of a mobile station measures the number of paths of an outgoing channel and discriminates the necessity of execution of antenna selection only when the number of the paths is smaller than a threshold value, and discriminates that it is not required to execute antenna selection in other cases. A multiplexer circuit 214 multiplexes a control signal denoting the discrimination result of the discrimination circuit 213 on transmission data and transmits the multiplexed transmission data. A base station separates the control signal from a received signal and decides whether or not it is required to execute the antenna selection according to the contents of the control signal.
