PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an assembling cost of a responder located at a rolling stock side in a data transmission system used for rolling stocks in service on tracks. SOLUTION: The data transmission system consists of at least one track side/or rolling stock side of an inquiry terminal and the responders mounted on an axle of the rolling stock, where the inquiry terminal supplies energy required for data transmission by a radio wave or at least a microwave application is applied to the data transmission. At least two of the responders 3, 4 are mounted on each axle of the rolling stock, each of them partially surrounds the axle and jointly acts on at least one antenna array (5, 6; 7, 8) to attain data transmission over an angle of at least 180 degrees and the antenna arrays are mounted on the axle while being shifted by 180 degrees with each other.
