PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a wavelength division multiplexing system to provided an approach at a low cost when transferring plural protocols by means of a system such as 'Fiber to The Home', and the WAN/MAN(wide area network/ metropolitan area network). SOLUTION: The wavelength division multiplexing system of this invention has lasers, each laser emits light of a different wavelength and provides a system where plural wavelength bands are separated at least by an interval of 20 nm. An optical cobiner 27 is optically coupled with the lasers, which combines laser beams. an optical fiber 26 through which the combined optical signal is transmitted, connects with the combiner 27. |
