PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the electrophotographic photoreceptor freed of filming of toner components and paper powder and the like and high in abrasion resistance and capable of forming stable copied images high in quality for a long period and to provide the image forming apparatus and the process cartridge using this this photoreceptor by specifying a charge generating material and a binder resin. SOLUTION: The surface layer of the photoreceptor contains the binder resin of the polycarbonate copolymer having at least repeating units each represented by formulae I and II and the the charge generating material is an imidazolperylene compound represented by at least one of structural units each represented by formulae III and IV. In formulae I and II, each of R1-R10 is, independently, a 1-12C alkyl or 6-12C optionally substituted aryl group, and each of R7-R10 may be a halogen atom, and a couple of R1 and R2 is different from that of R3 and R4; X is a 1-6C optionally substituted alkylene group; (n) is an integer of 1-6; each of (a)-(d) is, independently, an integer of 0-4; each of (p) and (q) is a natural number and p+q=<150; and Y is a simple bond or the like.
