PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the structure of a rotary valve used in a pseudo-moving phase type chromatographic separation apparatus. SOLUTION: A rotary valve 10 has a fixed part 32, having fixed flow passages connected to respective columns 20 and a rotating part 30 having the rotary passage connected to a flexible piping 44 from each tank. Each of the columns 20 is connected so as to form an endless circulating flow passage by a circulating piping 22 and the fixed flow passage. Since the rotating part 30 of the rotary valve 10 is reversed after making almost one revolution to return to the beginning, twisting of the flexible piping 44 is eliminated. A two- component raw material soln. and an eluent are supplied, and the rotary valve 10 is changed over, in matching with the movement of a circulating soln. so as to obtain separated components A, C.
