PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve adhesion resistance against measurement fluid including minute quantities of solid material so as to improve measurement precision by inserting and fixing a vortex generating body into a measurement pipe line so that its center axis is arranged horizontally. SOLUTION: A vortex generating body 11 is inserted and fixed in a measurement pipe line 1 so that the center axis 111 of the vortex generating body 11 is arranged horizontally. A signal indicator 12 is installed to a body part of an ultrasonic vortex flowmeter with its indication surface allowed to rotate freely, so that an indicated value can be easily read. A Karman vortex is generated by the vortex generating means 11 when measurement fluid flows through the measurement pipe line 1. Because of the Karman vortex, ultrasonic waves generated from a transmission element 4 are modulated by a Karman vortex in the measurement fluid so as to be received by a reception element 5. As the vortex generating body 11 is arranged horizontally, no solid material in the measurement fluid is accumulated below the vortex generating body 11. Therefore, an ultrasonic vortex flowmeter with improved measurement precision can be provided.
