PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic disk device capable of preventing a magnetic head and a magnetic disk from being damaged and surely protecting information. SOLUTION: This magnetic disk device is provided with the magnetic head scanning the magnetic disk 5 and recording/reproducing the information, a slider 8 holding the magnetic head, a flexure 9 holding the slider 8 and having elasticity in the direction substantially vertical to the magnetic disk 5 surface, a flexure support arm 2 holding the flexure 9 and making the head scan onto the magnetic disk 5 and an elastic body 11 provided on the flexure support arm 2 and applying weight for pressing the slider 8 onto the magnetic disk 5 surface to the flexure 9.
