PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic filter high in strength, prevented from the damage at a time of baking or at a time of mounting within a housing and hard to generate seal inferiority. SOLUTION: A large number of parallel flow passages 3 are formed to a cylindrical body 2 in a longitudinal direction and a filter membrane having a pore size further smaller than that of the porous body 2 is formed to the inner peripheral surface of the flow passages 3 and slit-like gap parts 4 are provided to the porous body 2 in a longitudinal direction in order to increase the water permeation amt. from the flow passages 3 in the vicinity of the center part of the porous body 2 and the edge end parts of the flow passages 3 communicating with the gap parts 4 are sealed by a seal member 5 to constitute a ceramic filter 1. The gap parts 4 are provided only to the central part of the porous body 2 in a longitudinal direction and constituted so that the length thereof becomes short as goes toward the outer periphery of the porous body 2 from the center part thereof.
