PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To normally output a character pattern as a pattern registered by a user by individually managing registered font information as the same term and different character pattern for each job or interface. SOLUTION: When interfaces 305 and 319 individually receive printing jobs from host computers 307 and 318 in parallel, and printing job processors 310 and 314 respectively analyze the received printing jobs in parallel, and generate output data. Character shape information to be registered obtained by the analysis of the processors 310 and 314 is respectively stored for each job in registered font storage devices 112 and 116. Font managing devices 111 and 115 manage the registration or reading of the character shape information for the storage devices 112 and 116 for each job. Then, the processors 310 and 314 generate and output character pattern data which can be printed by a printing part 206 based on the character shape information read from the managing devices 111 and 115 and the character shape designation information designated in the printing job.
