PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to obtain breaking displacement of a door beam with stability and obtain the required maximum load and energy absorption amount without increasing the weight. SOLUTION: In a cross section perpendicular to the length direction, this door beam has a cross-sectional shape of coupling a compression-side flange 1 and a tension-side flange 2 with a pair of webs 3, 4. Lengths c1, c2 of both overhangs of the compression-side flange 1 and lengths d1, d2 of both overhangs of the tension-side flange 2 are different from each other, respectively. The longer overhangs with lengths c1, d2 exist on one diagonal line. With this configuration, the door beam makes (generally rhomboidal) buckling deformation so that the cross section is crushed when receiving bending load, and the load largely decreases before large skewness is accumulated on the tension side. As a result, load on the side of the tension-side flange 2 is relieved and cracking is prevented. |
