PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lead wire with good operability which can easily detect the breaking of a detection wire by being connected in one operation to the detection connector of a cable with respect to a detecting function. SOLUTION: A lead wire 80 for wire braking measurement of the cable 1 with the detecting function has a shield layer 86 formed in the outer circumference of plural insulating wire cores 81a to 81f. On one end of the lead wire 80, a detection socket 90 equipped with terminals which can be connected to the connector electrodes of a detection connector 53 is mounted, the insulating wire cores 81a to 81f are connected to the terminals of a detection socket 90, and the shield layer 86 is connected to an external case 90A of the detection socket 90.
