PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flexible transmission data acquisition device that cap automatically acquire facsimile transmission data, without the need for expensive upgrade of the hardware and can be dynamically re-arranged. SOLUTION: This automatic acquisition device 10 installed between a telephone line 12 and a facsimile terminal 14 monitors and records transmission data in real time, modulates selectively facsimile transmission data and transmits the modulated data to a computer interface 44. The automatic acquisition device 10 is dynamically re-arranged and preferably copes with various facsimile formats and computer interfaces.
