PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the responsiveness to a fluid temperature change without causing a problem on the strength of a sheath tube. SOLUTION: This fluid temperature detector T is provided with a protective tube 4 extending into a fluid through the wall face W of a pipe, a container or an apparatus surrounding the fluid and a sheath tube 2 stored in the protective tube 4. A temperature detecting element 1 is stored in the sheath tube 2 correspondingly to the tip section 4a of the protective tube 4. Powder 3 such as metal powder is filled between the temperature detecting element 1 and the sheath tube 2. A nearly cylindrical space S is formed between the protective tube 4 and the sheath tube 2. A liquid such as silicone oil or silicone grease having the heat conductivity higher than that of air is filled in the space S to accelerate the heat transfer from the protective tube 4 to the sheath tube 2.
