PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a developing device that the quantity of developer housed in the device can be always stabilized. SOLUTION: This developing device 1 is provided with a toner sensor 12 for detecting the toner concentration of the developer housed in a housing 6. When the developer is discharged through a discharge port 6b, a shutter 11 is opened and a motor 21 is driven so as to rotate a developing sleeve 2 and an upper and a lower augers 3 and 5. Besides, the sensor output of the sensor 12 is checked. When the sensor output becomes almost zero, it is judged that the almost all the developer is discharged. |
