PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide vending machine for easily operating an adjusting work accompanied by the change of the width of a merchandise passage, and for accurately selling merchandise. SOLUTION: A vending machine is provided with plural partition walls whose mounting positions on a rack board can be changed for forming plural merchandise passages, part to be detected which is provided on each partition wall corresponding to each merchandise passage, automatic carrying device for receiving merchandise at the receiving position at the time of selling and for carrying the merchandise to a merchandise output port, position detecting means 8a and 8b for detecting the position of the part to be detected corresponding to each of the plural merchandise passages, detecting means 41 for outputting a detection signal by detecting the part to be detected, and controller 8 for moving the automatic device with the part to be detected of the merchandise passage for housing the selected merchandise as a target based on the position of the part to be detected which is detected by position detecting means 8a and 9b at the time of selling, and for stopping the automatic carrying device at the receiving position when the detection signal of the part to be detected as the target is outputted from the detecting means 41.
