PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the consumption amt. of water and labor required in the treatment of sludge issued from a wet dust collector. SOLUTION: A centrifugal separator 2 removing sludge contained in sewage issued from a wet dust collector 1 by centrifugal force, a sedimentation tank 3 for sedimenting sludge remaining in water discharged from the centrifugal separator 2, a first pump 6 for returning the sludge sedimented on the bottom part of the sedimentation tank 3 to the centrifugal separator 2, and a second pump 7 for returning the supernatant water of the sedimentation tank 3 to the wet dust collector 1 are provided. Since the centrifugal separator 2 is used, sludge can be efficiently removed and, since the sludge remaining in the water supplied to the sedimentation tank 3 is returned to the centrifugal separator 2 by the first pump 6, the contamination of the sedimentation tank 3 can be minimized. Since the supernatant water of the sedimentation tank 3 is returned to the wet dust collector 1 by the second pump 7, a constant amt. of water is reutilized while circulated to minimize the use amt. of new water.
