PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new compound readily and efficiently producible a large area body, crosslinkable by a practical measure, excellent in monodomain orientation properties and suitable as a crosslinking agent for a liquid crystal polymer. SOLUTION: This compound is shown by formula I [R1 and R2 are each H or methyl; 0<=n<=5, 1<=m<=6, m>=n+1, 0<=h<=5, 1<=i<=6, i>=h+1; X is a para- substituted cyclic structure-type compound; * is an optically active carbon], for example, a compound of formula II. In order to obtain the compound, a compound which is prepared by esterification or etherification of a compound forming the X-part such as phenol, 4,4'-biphenol, para-hydroxybenzoic acid or isosorbide is etherified with a compound which is prepared by introduction of a (meth)acryloyl group to an optically active spacer part consisting of an optically active derivative such as an optically active diol or ethyl lactate.
