PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer capable of generating a low sound, performing high speed printing and simultaneously printing on two sheets. SOLUTION: Thermal papers 10a, 10b are supplied to a portion of a thermal head 6 from a paper feed roller 1 and are sequentially and selectively heated by the thermal head 6, thereby performing the printing. The printed thermal papers 10a, 10b are fed to a recording paper separating mechanism 7, then the thermal paper 10a is advanced downward and the thermal paper 10b is advanced forward so that the papers 10a, 10b are separated by a separating pawl 71. The thermal paper 10a is wound around a winding roller 5. On the other hand, the thermal paper 10b is cut in a predetermined length by an automatic cutting mechanism 8 to be passed to a person who bought a commodity. The thermal paper 10a wound around the winding roller 5 can be used in journal forming for checking a sales amount.
