PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively utilizes a space between a body of a refrigerator and a wall surface and to efficiently exhaust warming-up air in a machine room by projecting a central part of the room cover from rear and providing an exhaust hole at its upper part and a suction hole at its lower part. SOLUTION: A machine room 9 is provide at the rear of a lower part of a refrigerator body 1, a suction hole is provided at a bottom 10 of the room 9, and a back surface opening of the room 9 is covered with a machine room cover 11. The cover 11 is projected rearward at a site opposed to the opening of the room 9. A plurality of suction holes 11a are provided at the upper surface and the back surface. A plurality of exhaust holes 11b are provided at the bottom. A projecting size a' of each hole 11b toward a wall surface 6 is reduced by 20 to 30 mm as compared with that a of a stopper 7 of the upper part. Thus, a sufficient air gap for upgrading a flow of warming-up air is obtained to the compressor 8, and the air is pulled into the room 9 by an air flow rising from the holes 11b of the bottom to the holes 11a of the upper part, thereby accelerating exhausting of the warm air.
