PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce risk of accessing which is not approved by providing a hidden security section in a device and storing information regarding the section position in the device. SOLUTION: A hard disk 38 provides a large-scale storage device for a computer and holds data regarding transactions, dealings, etc., together with software for the operation of the system. A mother board BIOS(basic input/ output system) includes hard disk operation and allows the system to correctly operate. This BIOS is accessed at the start of a boot-up program (start-up program) and is held in a typical ROM 36. Then the security section is included above an area where standard section entry information is arranged and the space in its section table sector is used, so it is never recognized as a hidden area by an ordinary operating system. |
