PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a side effect and to enable a patient to be accepted without an uncomfortable feel by incorporating a carrier containing a drug in a subsaturation state into a reservoir of a flow rate considerably greater than the drug skin flow rate when the drug is provided in a saturated state. SOLUTION: The drug is incorporated into the drug reservoir in the form of a simple matrix containing the subsaturation solution of the drug in the carrier or in the form of a fibrous body penetrated with the subsaturated solution of the drug into the carrier. The reservoir is provided with a means for maintaining the delivery relation between the skin and the drug. Further, the reservoir is provided with a lining for reservoir protection and/or for preventing the reverse diffusion of the drug, a structural layer for impartation of mechanical characteristics and/or a release lining layer to be removed before use. The drug solubility and size of the carrier are so selected that the subsaturation state of the reservoir may be maintained during a medication system to enable the provision of the necessary drug accumulation quantity. As a result, a physiological level, diurnal rhythm and active metabolism may be achieved and maintained. |
