PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a flame retardant from bleeding without detriment to flame retardancy by compounding a specified amount of a polyester resin into a resin composition comprising a polyolefin resin and a halogenous flame retardant. SOLUTION: A resin composition is prepared by compounding 100 pts.wt. polyolefin resin with 0.2-40 pts.wt. halogenous flame retardant selected from among halogen-containing organic compounds and halogen-containing phosphoric esters. Thus prepared resin composition of 100 pts.wt. is compounded with 1-30 pts.wt. polyester resin having a number average mol.wt. of 1,000-500,000, preferably 5,000-200,000 and optionally an inorganic compound (e.g. antimony trioxide or pentaoxide), another thermoplastic resin, and resin additives such as a stabilizer, a colorant, a weatherproofing agent, and a lubricant, giving the objective flame-retardant polyolefin resin composition. This composition is molded by extrusion, injection molding, compression molding, etc., to give moldings. |
