PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a cutting-welding position in proximity with a simple construction by detecting a plate width, while traveling a moving frame which is arranged with a plate side edge detector to detect both side edges in the width direction of two cut plates, in the width direction and aligning plate width centers. SOLUTION: When overlapping or butting of a preceding plate and a succeeding plate is completed, a moving frame 1 is traveled from an operation side to an anti-operation side. At this time, when welding the plates to be welded close to a max plate width, plate side edges are detected by plate side edge detectors 10a, 10b, 11a, 11b, 16a, 16b, 17a, 17b, at the same time, by reading a value of the encoder connected to a drive motor 18, the absolute position of plate side edges against a plate width center line and the deviation of the plate width center of a preceding plate and a succeeding plate are known. By moving a half of the deviation quantity, the centers of the preceding plate and the succeeding plate are aligned and clamped, the welding done while traveling an upper electrode 6 and a lower electrode 5 from an operation side end to an anti-operation side end. |
