PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a resistive component, to improve a discharge voltage at high rate discharge and to improve the high rate discharge by forming a lead part into a rectangular shape, by providing at least one end thereof with a cut-out part, and by welding the cut-out part astride a central hole part of a current collecting part. SOLUTION: An upper collector 5 has a current collecting part 7 having a central hole part 6, and a lead part 9 that is rectangular in shape and has a cut-out part 8 formed one end thereof. The lead part 9 is so welded to the current collecting part 7 that the cut-out part 8 at its one end straddles the central hole part 6. The current collecting part 7 of the upper collector 5 is resistance-welded to the upper edge of a positive electrode plate of an electrode body 4, a lower collector is welded to the lower edge of a negative electrode plate of the electrode body 4 and the electrode body 4 is received in an armoring can used as a negative electrode terminal at the same time. In this case, because the lead part 9 is welded such that the cut-out part 8 straddles the central hole part 6 of the current collecting part 7, current collecting capability from the electrode body 4 can be improved.
