PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sustain the performance of a recorder by specifying the steam permeability at a specified temperature by specifying the concentration of moisture keeping agent in ink per day and unit area thereby suppressing fluctuation in the characteristics of water pigment based ink even after it is left for a long time. SOLUTION: Assuming the radius on the cross-section of an ink supply tube is r (m), the length is b (m) and the density of ink is 1 g/cm3, the weight of ink in the ink supply tube isπr2b×106 g. Allowable evaporation (100-2a) wt.% is then divided by the surface area of the ink supply tube to determine an allowable permeation of steam per 1 m2 of ink supply tube. Assuming the ink is preserved for 30 days at 45 deg.C, the allowable permeation of steam is divided by 30 and evaporation of moisture of the water pigment based ink is suppressed such that the steam permeation required for the ink supply tube at 45 deg.C will be (50-a)r/3×103 (g/m2.day). |
