摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the accuracy of focus detection by eliminating noise generated by a luminous flux other than the one from a divided pupil aperture which is in a transmission condition from an image signal becoming basic data calculating image deviation amount in a pupil time division phase difference detecting system focus detector. SOLUTION: As to this focus detector provided with a photoelectric conversion means 12 converting an object image to the image signal, a pupil dividing means 10 provided with n aperture parts whose aperture centroid positions are mutually different and opening/closing the aperture part by time division, and a focus detecting means 13 detecting the focus condition of a photographing optical system 20; the means 13 receives a (k)th image signal obtained by optically opening only a (k)th aperture part and optically shielding (n-1) aperture parts except the (k)th aperture part, and a total closing image signal obtained by optically shielding all the (n) aperture parts, and detects the focus condition based on a corrected (k)th image signal obtained by correcting the (k)th image signal in accordance with the total closing image signal.
