PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute feedback controlling for an ink concentration so as to prevent lowering of printing quality that may occur when the concentration of ink is reduced. SOLUTION: A cleaning exchange sensor for detecting that a concentration of ink in an ink circulating system of an ink jet recorder is lowered due to continuous cleaning in a short time is provided to an ink tank. When it is detected that the concentration of the ink is lowered, a quantity of a solvent which is used in automatic cleaning called 'a small quantity cleaning mode' is reduced to a quantity for cleaning required for preventing clogging in a nozzle orifice. |
