PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cathode-ray tube capable of obtaining satisfactory resolution over the whole area of a screen by resolving or reducing the beam spot shape deflection phenomenon due to the difference of lens powers between the horizontal direction and the vertical direction generated in the periphery of the screen. SOLUTION: A sixth grid (G6) forming a main electron lens part is formed of a first positive electrode G61, an auxiliary electrode G62 and a second positive electrode G63. A medium voltage is applied to a fifth grid (G5), and the positive electrode voltage is applied to the first and the second positive electrodes G61, G63, and an intermediate voltage between the described voltages is applied to an intermediate electrode GM and the auxiliary electrode G62.
