PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester monofilament having wear resistance of high performance, its production and various fabric for industrial uses such as fabrics for paper making, belts, filters, etc. SOLUTION: This polyester monofilament comprises a polyester containing 0.5-30 wt.% of a thermoplastic elastomer. In the monofilament, plural insular dispersing elements comprising a thermoplastic elastomer lie in a vertical cross section and the average diameter, when the sectional patterns of the insular dispersing elements are approximated to be a circle, is in the range of 0.1-5μm. Its production is to add thermoplastic elastomer pellets, added with 0.1-8 wt.% of at least one powder selected from powdery metal salts of fatty acids, fatty acid amides, polyolefins, silica, calcium carbonate and fluorine resins, to the polyester, melt and knead and successively melt spinning the elastomer- containing polyester.
