PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a teaching material, a device, etc., for leaning a foreign language, enabling a learner to easily grasp a difference arrangements of words and sentences between Japanese and foreign languages, and rapidly improve the capability of translating the foreign language. SOLUTION: An English-Japanese translation formula table 4 is printed on a front side of a write sheet 1, and also a Japanese-English translation formula table 5 is printed on the back side. Each of the formula tables 4, 5 consist of respective six English-Japanese formulas 6-11 and Japanese-English formulas 19-24 corresponding to the 1st to the 6th sentence patterns of English. Each formula is of upper and lower two-stage structure, and on the lower side, syntax elements 15, 16 such as a subject (S) and a verb (V) are arranged in the order of words and phrases in English or Japanese. And, on the upper side, phrase entry sections 17 are arranged corresponding to the syntax elements 15, 16 each, and Japanese conjunction words 18 are printed in the neighborhood of the predetermined phrase entry sections 17. Therefore, considering the syntax elements of a sentence to be translated, a learner fills in the phrase of Japanese or English in the phrase entry section, and then translates the phrase.
