PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photometric device for camera simple in circuit configuration and capable of eliminating problems such as the increase of cost and the increase of energy consumption in the conventional device. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a photometry means 1 for executing the photometry of object light and a measuring means for measuring a time required to obtain a prescribed photometric amount by taking the photometry information from the photometry means 1 as an input, and, the measurement information from the measuring means is taken as the photometry information. The measurement time is set so as to be a pulse time proportional to the photometric amount. The pulse time is formed by the photometry means by introducing an optical integration system. A power is supplied to the photometry means 1 only for the pulse time and a pulse width measuring time.
