PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the heat-developable material negligible in fluctuation of density of an image to be formed, deterioration of color tone, and drop of transmissivity near 400 nm wavelength at the time of development processing. SOLUTION: This heat-developable material contains organic silver grains and reducing agent on a support and >=50% of the total organic silver grains are flat grains having a flat grain ratio TA of >=2 defined by TA=B/D, where B is the projection areas of the flat organic silver grains and D is the thickness of the flat organic silver grains. It is preferred that this heat-developable material contains an oxidant and hydrazine derivative and the average grain diameter of the organic silver grains is 0.3-1.2μm.
