PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a compsn. having an effect to improve the strength of a glass sheet to be used by compounding specified proportions of colored heat- resistant pigment powder, glass powder, refractory filler and whisker-type refractory filler. SOLUTION: The compsn. prepared contains, by wt.%, 5 to 40 of colored heat-resistant pigment powder, 50 to 94.5 of glass powder, 0 to 25 of refractory filler, and 0.1 to 40 of at least one kind of whisker-type refractory filler selected from aluminum borate whisker,α-alumina whisker, potassium titanate whisker, zinc oxide whisker, Na2Ca2P2O18 whisker, magnesium oxide whisker, magnesium borate whisker, basic magnesium sulfate (MgSO4.5MgO.8H2O) whisker and titanium diborate whisker. As for the color heat-resistant pigment powder, oxides of copper-chromium or the like can be used, and as for the refractory filler,α-alumina or the like can be used.
